LEAP provides tailored in-school and afterschool programs in visual arts, music, dance, theater, and new media. Each residency is thoughtfully designed to align with the unique goals and needs of your students and school community.
Our experienced teaching artists and program managers collaborate with schools to create project plans that support student learning, accommodate school schedules, and reflect the school’s culture.
Every LEAP residency culminates in a student showcase, bringing together families, educators, and stakeholders to celebrate the creativity and achievements of participating students.
The LEAP Way
Visual Arts
LEAP visual arts residencies give students the chance to explore 2D and 3D art through hands-on, imaginative work in painting, drawing, printmaking, collage, fiber art, ceramics, and sculpture. Along the way, they develop their own visual voice, and each residency ends with a gallery-style showcase of their work.

Music
LEAP music residencies help students use instruments and voice to explore rhythm, pitch, and sound. Through performance, composition, music literacy, and cultural connections, students discover how music can communicate and tell stories. Each residency ends with a choral or instrumental performance showcasing their work.
Theater
​LEAP theater residencies use emotion, voice, and the body to examine the world through character, conflict, and action. Examples of past theater residencies include Playwriting, Improv and Storytelling, and Musical Theater. All LEAP theater residencies culminate in a performance of students’ work, considering everything from set design to stage presence.
New Media Arts
​LEAP new media arts residencies introduce students to digital art forms through storytelling, exploration, and experimentation. Students use production tools and techniques to express their ideas and connect with the world in new ways. Each residency ends with a presentation or performance showcasing their work.
Dance
LEAP dance residencies invite students to explore movement through steps, patterns, sequencing, improvisation, choreography, and performance. Students learn through the body while using dance to express themselves and collaborate on group pieces. Styles range from hip-hop to African, Latin, STEP, and more, and each residency ends with a performance showcasing their work.
